In the final evaluation it will be taken into account to what extent the
student:
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of theories of
culture and society introduced during the course;
- is able to present and evaluate these different theories;
- is able to choose relevant theories and to discuss the choice
of theory in relation to specific cases and problems;
- demonstrates knowledge of course literature.
The objective is to introduce the student to theories of culture and society
and to give the student knowledge of selected theories relevant to the
European Studies programme. The purpose is furthermore to allow the
student to develop an understanding of how these theories are applied in
analysis.

Instructions will typically involve lectures, class discussions and student
presentations. Furthermore tuition in smaller groups may be offered tol
allow students to discuss and reflect on theoretical positions orally and in
writing.
