Formål
The aim is that, once students have followed the course, they should have:
-
Acquired an overview of the area of copyright protection, economic rights, and the most important exceptions to copyright protection,
-
Acquired knowledge of the protection of artistic rights,
-
Overall knowledge of EU harmonisation of copyright law,
-
Knowledge of the Berne Convention and the TRIPS Agreement,
-
Knowledge of the most important decisions of the ECJ on European law relating to copyright,
-
Knowledge of selected decisions from the national courts of selected jurisdictions,
-
Acquired an understanding of and ability to apply copyright terms and concepts in English.
Indhold
The course deals with the international regulation of copyright, with the main emphasis being on harmonisation through the EU directive, the Berne Convention, the TRIPS Agreement, and a study of selected jurisdictions, including England, France, Germany and the USA.
