The students will acquire:
The three religions in contemporary perspective. From the Enlightenment to the present.
This module is linked to The emergence of Judaism, Christianity and Islam .
The purpose of this module, which is placed in the third term, on the Wirkungsgeschichte of the three religions from the Enlightenment to the present is to give students a thorough understanding of the current situation. It is a crucial element of the Programme that students are not only given the historical foundations of the three main religions of Europe, but also acquire an understanding of their later transformations and reconfigurations in their contemporary settings. Through this module, students will acquire familiarity with the interaction of all three religions in the modern world.
Examination
If the student has participated regularly, actively and satisfactorily in a course, she or he may choose between a free and a fixed written examination. A student failing to fulfil these requirements these requirements must sit a fixed written exam.
In the free written examination, the student writes a paper of between eight and ten pages on a subject, question or material chosen by the student and approved by the responsible teacher.
In the fixed written examination, the student is given a week to write a paper of between eight and ten pages on a subject, question or material provided by the responsible teacher.
The examination is evaluated by external censorship.

The syllabus will include 1500 pages of mostly scholarly literature. Two thirds of this syllabus is fixed, one third is chosen by the student but subject to approval by the teacher.
