The students are supposed to be able to
Interpret rational decisions and to evaluate and analyse rational decisions.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course provides an introduction to economics building on the economics part of the Introduction course. This course deals with the first central subjects at the core of economics as well as the central economic terms and principles that are used in the analysis of micro and macroeconomic problems.
An economic approach is emphasized when making and analyzing rational decisions. Both verbal presentations as well as graphical tools and mathematical approaches are used in this analysis.

REQUIRED COURSES (progression): The five-week Introduction to Economics and Management course at the beginning of the first semester.

FORM OF ASSESSMENT: Oral exam of 20 min. duration without preparation. Topics for the exam can be taken as well from the curriculum in Principles of Economics as from the curriculum for the Introduction to Economics course. Before the oral exam can be taken it is mandatory to pass two multiple choice tests placed respectively in early November and early December.
