Formål

The main objective is to acquire knowledge about automation and to solve an automation problem and present the solution in a scientific manner.

Indhold

Students will be presented for a specific automation problem, set up a hypothesis, describe a solution, test and validate the setup, document choices and present the process as a small scientific paper.

Undervisnings- og arbejdsform

Students will be presented to a real problem that has to be solved scientifically and practically and a report written. Lectures and supervision will be provided.

Literature will primarily be scientific papers from international reviewed journals

Læringsmål

After finalisation of the course students are able to:

  • Hypothesise an automation problem and set a plan for development of the task.
  • Specify the requirements and functionality of an automation unit in relation to an analysis of the biological, environmental and technical surroundings.
  • Design and analyse the structure of an automation solution.
  • Discuss and document choice of automation components for specific tasks.
  • Model or build a given automation solution.
  • Plan, perform, validate, and analyse experiments that documents solutions to an automation task.
  • Write a scientific report on the given subject, present the problem and solutions, and discuss and reflect on the chosen solutions.

Bedømmelse

The exam is a combination of an individual written report and oral examination. 

Oral examination for 30 min.

The reports and the oral exam counts equal.

External examiner, the Danish 7-point grade scale.

Reexamination will be arranged together with the Course Responsible.
