  • Uddannelsessprog: engelsk
  • Niveau: Bachelor
  • Semester/kvarter: 1 st semester
  • Timer per uge: 55 lessons in total. Hours per week varies
  • Deltagerbegrænsning: 35 students
  • Undervisningssted: Herning
  • Hovedområde: Det Samfundsvidenskabelige Fakultet

Formål

The objective of the course is to provide the student with knowledge about the central working methods and theories within some areas of graphics communication:

- Free hand sketch

- 3D Computer Aided Design

In addition, the objective is to enable the student to give an account of this knowledge and to use this knowledge in the following way to complete to the course:

- Within the Free hand sketch area the aim of this course is to equip the students with skills needed to create hand sketches.

- Within the 3D Computer Aided Design area the aim of this course is to equip the students with skills needed to create working drawings, To give the students insight into the theoretical basis of creating working drawings and to give the students an understanding of how 3D CAD models can be used to support technical aspects of production tasks in traditional manufacturing companies.

Indhold

Free hands sketch:

During the course common skills within free hand sketching are taught with focus as stated below:

  • The use of drawing in product development and manufacturing documentation
  • Types of drawings including projection types
  • Methods of training sketching techniques

3D Computer Aided Design (CAD):

The 3D CAD system Pro Engineer (Wildfire) makes up the framework of this course. The following areas will be in focus:

  • Part modelling
  • Creation of working drawings in 2D
  • Assembly
  • Creation of assembly drawings/exploded view

The creation of working drawings and assembly drawings will, in addition to exercises in Pro/Engineer, be supplemented with instruction in general drawing rules including:

· Double right-angled projection

· Line types

· Dimensioning/sizing

· Sectional views

· Tolerances, including fitting and geometric tolerances

· Surfaces

· Lists of parts with assembly drawings

This part of the course gives the student a practical and theoretical introduction to free hand sketching and 3D CAD. The main focus is on the techniques of constructing 3D models (feature based part modelling). Furthermore, building up a technical drawing based on the 3D model is reviewed.

This part of the course is followed by a more detailed examination of how to make 3D CAD models and technical drawings /GKO) in 2 nd and 4 th Semester.

Personlig udvikling

The purpose of this course is to develop the student's ability to express ideas concerning a product or manufacturing issues through the use of hand made sketches and computer made 3D models and drawings.
