Through his/her academic course work, the student develops the following abilities:
The aim of the course is to offer students an opportunity to consider the uses and value of oral history as a research method based on readings and practical experiences. The team of teachers has prepared a syllabus that introduces the students to key literature on oral history as method and theory parallel with concrete experiences with oral history interviews. The oral history interview projects the students will conduct during the semester will be partly in cooperation with various local collaborators such as museums, public sector groups, and the university administration. The outcome of the interviews will be integrated in various oral, performance, and written assignments.
