The focal point of the seminar is cognitive deficits, dementia, and cerebrovascular disease among elderly people and neuropsychological assessment within this population. The seminar will introduce students to basic neuroanatomy, and neuropsychological assessment of elderly through theory and practice. Students will be presented to tests of attention, memory, language, and executive function. Finally, the cognitive profiles of common neurodegenerative and acute diseases are presented and the students are expected to generate a neuropsychological test battery for assessment thereof.
The seminar will consist of student presentations, case studies, teamwork, lectures, and practical exercises. Students are expected to attend class and participate in discussions. Also all students are expected to do 1-2 oral presentations.

Master level: 15 ECTS, writing an essay of 20 pages +/- 20 %
