Formål

The goal of Company Project II is to empower the student to use the theory from 2 nd semester in practice. The projects should have the main focus on the company possibility to adapt to new technologies and business opportunities by organizational change and development, which leads to innovative technological products- and product concepts, manufacturing and/or business processes and business opportunities.

Specifically the student project should demonstrate knowledge on one or more of the following topics:

  • Examine the company's existing structure, business processes and culture in order to uncover the readiness and curiosity for organizational change and development, especially regarding the business processes concerning the de facto company technologies, product development tools, production technologies and marketing of the products.
  • Based on the organizational analysis and systematic concern for selected employees a learning environment is set-up trough responsibility empowerment and a incentive system, that promotes innovation, creativity and enthusiasm to see new product and business opportunities while respecting the company's corporate product- and segment portfolio, employee competences, core competences, capabilities and strategy.
  • Conduct recruiting and employee development interview.
  • Human Resource Management, Organizational Change and Development, Strategic Innovation.
  • Participate in development and implementation of innovation strategies and strategic management.

Instead, focus could be on technologies, which elevates the innovative level of the company products. But equally good could be projects, which deals with the companies manufacturing processes, business processes, internal information flow or external information flow to suppliers and customers. Thus the content of the project could be highly technological and the prolongation and progression of company project I.

One major success criterion of the project is the student's ability to relate the work to a new technology.

Content must be agreed upon between semester coordinator, company and the student, and regulated by a written contract, specifying task, content and expected result of the work.

Undervisnings- og arbejdsform

Company project. The project aims at solving a company specific problem through selection of theory (literature study), formulation of model, empirical investigation, analysis and report. The students work independently under supervision of the company mentor and the supervisor from the university. Regular supervision meetings are held.

Litteratur

The students are expected to find a sufficient amount of relevant scientific literature on their own, in order to respond to their main aim of the project.

Report, PowerPoint presentation and oral examination. The student and supervisor agree on a subject within the framework of the semester. The report must contain:

- Abstract

- Introduction to the subject and former scientific work in the area

- Methods of data acquisition.

- Model or theoretical framework: Survey of models and critical assessment of model. Presenting adapted model or framework.

- Analysis

- Conclusion

- Suggestions for further work

- Literature references.


The student presents the report in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation with a substantial emphasis on:

- Independent, relevant and factual information of interest for other students and the company.

- Consistent, attractive and communicative PowerPoint presentation with extensive use of, say, tables, graphs, figures, animations or (own) video clip.

- Exemplification in the form of calculations, demonstration or experiments. (Make agreement with the head of department concerning purchasing equipment).

The student has 10 minutes of presentation. The student is examined individually for 20 minutes in the subject of the report.
