Formål

The aim of the course is to give the basic knowledge concerning thermo and fluid dynamics. The course is dedicated students with another background than mechanical/energy engineering.

The main objective is to enable the students to understand process systems and plants. This involves the understanding of system description and the functionality of the individual components and the interactions in-between these.

Læringsmål

After passing the course the student shall be able to

• State the basic principle for the thermo and fluid dynamic.
• To analyze idealised processes composed to circulatory processes (kredsprocesser)
• Explain and work out a technical process diagram for a system dedicated to thermo- and flow based processes.
• Explain the functioning and the basic theory for thermo and fluid dynamic machinery and systems.
• Apply relevant theory to estimate. Flow, pressure loss, turbine, compressor and heat exchange systems.

Indhold

Basic thermo and fluid dynamics.

System and plant design

Mass and energy- balance

Gases and real stuff, tilstandsdiagram, material data and diagrams.

Functionality and theory of components as pumps/ventilators, cooling systems, heat transfer units etc.

Bedømmelse

3 hours written examination with all means of aid incl. PC. Internal examiner, the Danish 7-point grade scale.
