LEARNING OBJECTIVES :
The main purpose of this course is to introduce microeconometric strategies and techniques allowing for identification of causal effects within labor, education, and health. These techniques should then be applied to address a relevant empirical question. In particular, the students should be able to:
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
At the beginning of the semester the lecturer concentrates on bringing the students up to date on methodological topics within microeconometrics necessary for carrying out their projects. During, or immediately after, the first six weeks, the students choose a topic for their own project and the remainder of the semester is devoted to the writing of a project report while being supervised by the lecturer.

TEACHING METHOD: 4 lectures weekly for 6 weeks followed by supervision meetings.

LITERATURE:
Articles and book chapters depending upon the project topics decided by the students (total of approximately 300 pages).
FORM OF ASSESSMENT : 20-minute oral exam based upon empirical project report.
EXAMINATION AIDS ALLOWED : All - except any means of electronic communication including PCs.
