Temperature effects in soil microbial ecology

Læringsmål

  • an improved understanding of the effects of temperature on soil microbiology
  • an awareness of different techniques and models to quantify the temperature response of microorganisms and microbial processes
  • an improved understanding of the physiological background for microbial temperature responses and adaptations
  • an appreciation of the potential effects of climate change scenarios on microbial ecology

Indhold

The course content comprises an overview of major soil processes and their temperature responses. Examples and cases will focus on soil microbiology, but knowledge from other environments and trophic levels will be included as well.
