The objective of the course:
The aim of the course is to provide the students with fundamental theoretical insight into the different genres of organisational communication as well as fundamental insight into the theory of semiotics to be used when analysing and creating specific organisational communication material.
Course background:
The course builds on the knowledge acquired in the first semester about principles of communication and academic writing including theories on the communication process, sender-receiver relationships, and the context of the communication situation.
THE CENTRAL ISSUES OF THE COURSE:
The course will focus on the theories of semiotics to be used for analysing communication and applied in the creation of specific communication material. These theories will be applied in analysing different genres of existing organisational communication material from a variety of contexts as well as in creating organisational communication material.
1 st semester courses in Academic Writing (incl. Grammar) and Principles of Communication (incl. Rhetorical Communication).

Teaching may take the form of tutorials with casework, presentations and discussions as well as lectures.
During the course the student will have the opportunity to hand in a number of written assignments.
