Many managers believe they can change an organisation by changing the structure and the strategy of the company. But structures and strategies are only plans of the company and often in loose interaction with organising processes. Moreover, constant change and the external linkages of organisations are becoming increasingly important
The course gives the student an opportunity to learn about the processes of changing organisations through the employees and to learn the importance of employees in changing the organisation and the strategies. The course offers insight into both classical and more recent organisation theories and it also includes human resource theories. The approach is pluriparadigmatic, aiming at training the combination and potential synthesis of organisation theories and perspectives. Perspectives include open systems theory, culture, power and politics and institutional approaches.
