The aim of the course Business Case is to train the student in innovative and entrepreneurial processes in order to identify the potential of a good idea and hopefully, turn it into a good business idea.
In other words, focus is not on starting a new business but to explore the market and economic potentials of a new innovative idea. This can only be achieved if both the student and the idea become exposed to the real world and meet the challenges it brings. Therefore, the heading "Action trumps everything" could also be the title of this course.
The focus of this course is mainly practical - particularly in terms of verifying an idea's real market potential. This can only happen by making a thorough market analysis, where the student is physically outside and talk to potential customers, experts, manufacturers, suppliers, stakeholders, etc. to provide factual information.
The subject area can cover almost all formerly acquired theories and skills from previous semesters which may be used in this course and in practice.
The majority of the theory will probably be market-related (and technological) areas.
The course is approached from a concrete practical angle (an innovative new idea) where the student experiences and implements entrepreneurial processes supported by supervisors from AU-IBT.
It is expected that the students have passed at least three semesters.
In advance, the student should have a potential good idea (new innovative product, service, concept, etc.) that s/he wishes to work with during the course.

The course is based on approx. 10 % classroom teaching, 50 % project work, 20 % meetings with supervisor and 20 % self-study.
