-                    shows the ability to compose academic texts that critically examine and assess theories, concepts, methodologies and body of empirical knowledge introduced in the course

Indhold

The objective is to provide the student with in-depth knowledge and skills to analyse contemporary issues in European politics. The issue in focus will be chosen by the instructor before the start of the course, and can for instance be minorities, citizenship, migration, democracy, or the politics of food in Europe. The course combines theoretical, conceptual and empirical dimensions. Thus, it examines relevant theoretical and conceptual debates used in interdisciplinary academic debates, as well as key historical, social and political dimensions. The course also introduces the student to select methodologies that can be used to study the issue in question. This will enable the student to critically analyse and assess problems in relation to the particular issue in question, as well as provide the student with analytical tools for further studies of contemporary politics in Europe.
