Formål

The aim of this workshop course is to introduce the students to the process of choosing materials and production methods within various industries.

The students must use the asquired knowledge about mateials and production the their independently search for information about industries regarding materials and production methods.

Indhold

The student learns about, amongst others, the following industries, production methods, and materials:

Branches could be:

Textiles

Metal

Rubber

Wood

Electronics

Food stuffs

Materials and production processes could be:

Thread and its related production processes

Steel and its related production processes

Aluminium and its related production processes

Rubber and its related production processes

Wood and its related production processes

Electronic components

Personal development

The student should become skilled at independently gaining new knowledge, since new materials and production methods appear constantly within the various industries.

The course must be marked "Approved"

Criteria for achieving objectives

Each group must hand in 2 written reports covering different company visits.

The given company visits will be assigned by the coach.

The reports must demonstrate that the student have asquired knowledge about mateials and production the their independently search for information about industries regarding materials and production methods for the assign company include a description of the industry the company belongs to and a description of the production process in focus

- What were the focus of the visit

- What is the general theories regarding these processes

- How does the practice correlate with the theories

- Recommendation to the company

- Other relevant aspects

Bedømmelse

The course is evaluated on active participation (approx. 80 % of the company visits) and on approval of the required reports.
