The objective of the course is to provide the student with the ability to, based on theoretical knowledge and a practical understanding, to analyse a given investment or financing decision and based on a number of alternatives calculations discuss the different solutions based on risk and return.
The course is focusing on a number of subjects in the area of : investments, financing and risk management.
After the course the student should be able to:
Evaluate investment alternatives based on risk and return
Analyse the choice of financial instrument in risk management and speculation
Calculate demanded return according to the actual risk, and discuss the problems in the practical estimation of the different parameters
Analyse and discuss the choice of long time financing
Discuss optimal capital structure and dividend policy

Proximity to business is ensured through inclusion of real companies and cases in examples and exercises and the use of guest lecturers. Information will acquired from stock exchanges, national banks and other real life sources.
