Formål

 

The aim of this course is to provide the students with the necessary knowledge to understand, plan, design, develop and implement dynamic websites in a valid and syntactically correct manner, using the latest versions of Apache Server, PHP, MySQL, HTML and CSS.

Students will learn how to implement client side web based applications using JavaScript.

Indhold

 

The course subjects are divided into different areas:

 

•1)      Server Installation and Configuration

  • Installation and configuration of Apache Server both locally and on a remote server
  • Installation and configuration of PHP both locally and on a remote server
  • Installation and configuration of MySQL both locally and on a remote server

•2)      PHP and MySQL

  • PHP Syntax
  • Dynamic  interactive pages with PHP
  • Manipulate files with PHP
  • Arrays in PHP
  • Forms validation with PHP
  • Functions in PHP
  • Design and implement databases with MySQL
  • Manipulate and manage MySQL database data with PHP
  • User authentication with PHP
  • Manage sessions with PHP
  • PHP Modules
  • PHP e-mail
  • XML processing with PHP
  • Object-Oriented PHP

3)   JavaScript

  • JavaScript syntax
  • HTML DOM
  • Objects, methods and properties

Students work individually with subjects covered by teacher in class lectures and demonstrations. Students work with exercises and receive feedback from teacher and other students on their work.

During the semester the students will work in interdisciplinary groups of 4 to 5 students to develop a dynamic website, with both server and client side functionality, for a given customer assigned and/or approved by AU-IBT.
