Ved bedømmelsen af prøvepræstationen vil der blive lagt vægt på i hvor høj grad den studerende
- dokumentere viden om og forståelse for en bestemt arkæologisk problemstilling.
- vise evne til at analysere og anvende metoder på et givet arkæologisk materiale.
Summer School: Constantinople
Space and Representation in the Late Antique Metropolis,
26 th June- 10 th July 2011
The foundation of Constantinople, modern-day Istanbul, in 330 marked a turning point in Late Antique history. Founded as the new imperial capital, it was embellished with major public works and rich sculptural displays that gave rise to its title as the ‘New Rome'. This international 2-week summer school will take advantage of its setting in Istanbul to explore the history and sights of Late Antique Constantinople, including its palaces, churches, city walls, harbours, public statuary and funerary monuments. Teaching will be conducted by a team of experts on various topics of Late Antique art, archaeology and history.

Undervisningen former sig som forelæsninger med øvelser og dialog med udgangspunkt i relevant litteratur. Den studerende forventes at deltage aktivt i undervisningen.
