The goal of the course is to get experience with computational aspects of fluid dynamics through programming in Matlab and application of software such as Dytran and LsDyna. Focus will be on vortex shedding, somple fluid structure interaction, flow in flexible tubes, aspects of flow induced vibrations in simple structures, fluid structure interaction.
Potential flows, navier Stokes equations, turbulence modelling (k-e, RANS, LES, DNS), solvers (SIMPLE, PISO, couples, multi-grid), Routh-Hurwitz stability criteria of dynamical equations, flutter instability. Flow induced vibrations in structural components.

The goal of the course is to get a solid understanding of fluid flows, its analytical solutions, as well as computational aspects. The course is divided into teaching sessions (34%) and problem sessions (66%).
